The history of Broomhill House

Broomhill is located close to a variety of hill walking trails including the Southern Upland Way, the Borders Abbeys Way, St Cuthbert’s Way and many more. Local activities include clay shooting, horse riding, and fishing on the nearby river Tweed. Selkirk has historic connections with Sir Walter Scott and his former home at nearby Abbotsford. In mid June the Borders towns come alive with the Common Riding celebrations.

Built around 1750, extended in the 1830s and added to in the 1920s. Once home to the well known Borders artist John McNairn, who spent over 40 years recording the ever changing features of the gardens. Now after a 18 month period of renovation and sensitive modernisation the house is ready for guests.
